Four Current Panthers are Headed to the Prospect Showcase in Blaine, MN

The NA3AHL Central Penn Panthers are very happy to announce that four of its’ current players will be making the trip to the Prospects Showcase in Blaine, MN. The four players are Captain Austen Zimmerman (’99), Dennis Kohalda (’99), Patrick Swain (’99) and Josh Watterson (’98).

Zimmerman and Swain will be playing with the Pittsburgh Vengeance, while Kohajda and Watterson will be playing with the Syracuse Stampede in Blaine.

“We have a number of kids deserving to go to the showcase”, said Wil Younger, VP/GM of the Panthers. “It’s great to see the kids get rewarded for their hard word and dedication.”

“Both Syracuse and Pittsburgh have been great to work with. We’ve had four of our guys (Kohajda, Watterson, Braden Rishell (’99), and Marco Zarragoitia (’00)) play with Syracuse this season, and two (Swain and Zimmerman) with Pittsburgh. They are great organization, and we look forward to continuing to develop our relationships with them and others”, said Younger.

Younger continued, “We had great success with getting our players noticed this season, if they (the players) are willing to work, we’re willing to do what we can to get them to the next level”.

Another good example of this is former Assistant Captain Jake Beck (’97). The organization contacted the Jersey Shore Wildcats in October looking for a good place to get Beck (and others) exposure to the next level of play. Panthers aHead Coach Garrett Shultz worked with Jerseys Shore Coach Corey Leivermann to get some players time with the Wildcats. Leivermann welcomed the players with open arms. Beck practiced with Leivermann’s team a few times, and played in a few games, now Jake is with the Wildcats full time.
