Panthers beat the Moose!

Garret Baldacci

Garret Baldacci (’97) 35-Save Shutout

Congratulations to Panthers goaltender Garret Baldacci (’97) for earning his first Junior win, with a 35-save effort.

After a crazy ride to Aviator Sports & Recreation Hanger, the Panthers struck quick for 2 goals in less than 3-and-a-half minutes. Patrick Swain (’99) opened the scoring just 43 seconds in from Dennis Kohajda (’99), and then Sam Mutkus (’00) followed it up a little over 3 minutes later, his goal was assisted by new Panthers Collin Asmonga (’99) . The Moose fought back hard, and tallied twice in the first to tie the game at 2. In the second Captain Austen Zimmerman (’99) scored what proved to be the game winner from Mutkas and Gavyn Harris (’98). Cory Madison (’98) added a late 3rd period empty-net goal to seal the win.

“For all the craziness before hand, the kids really played a great game”, said Wil Younger, the team General Manager. “It took much longer for the team to arrive at the Rink, than expected. But they got ready in a hurry and took care of business”.
