Panthers drop a heart-breaker to the Moose in Overtime.

Patrick Swain

Patrick Swain (’99)

The Panthers took the ice for the second time this weekend against the Metro Fighting Moose at Aviator Sports & Recreation Hanger. The game remained scoreless through 2, and most of the third. The Moose broke the ice first with a goal with just 6 minutes left. With time winding down, the Patrick Swain (’99) tied the game with just 10 seconds left in regulation. The teams played pretty even through the better part of the overtime until a bit over 1-minute left in the game and the Moose scored on a redirection beating Panther goalie Danny Miller (’99). Miller had another outstanding game stopping 35 of 37 shots.

“The kids stuck together today and battled. Miller was outstanding today, the highlight had to be the 3-on-1 he stopped in the third”, said Wil Younger, the team General Manager. “Swain pulling us even and getting a point out of the game was huge for us, each game the kids are getting better, and you can see there is no giving up in this group, they have a ton of heart”.
