Strong Panthers Performance Falls Short

Sunday the 1st Place Long Island Royals came to Regency to take on the Panthers. The high scoring Royals Scored two power-play goals in the opening period and held a 2:0 advantage headed to the 2nd. In the 2nd, Cory Madison (’98) scored on a beautiful feed from Patrick Swain (’99) on a well played 2-on-1 to draw the home team within 1. The score would remain 2:1 until less then 3-minutes left when the Royals scored two quick goals to win 4:1. Rookie goalie Danny Miller (’99) was very strong in the loss making 41-saves.

“Danny was really good again for us today and made a number of big saves”, said Wil Younger, the team General Manager. “He may not have gotten a win today, but he made the Royals work, and he gave us a chance to win, he was outstanding”.
