U16s Win In Battle For The Top Spot

Creed Goshorn

Creed Goshorn (’01)

The u16s took on the Warwick Wildcats at Regency Ice Rink on Saturday afternoon in a battle for 1st place. Central Penn looked very strong controlling the play through a scoreless first period. The home team got on the board 5-minutes into the 2nd, on a dirty goal from Martin “Candlestick” Zavadan (’00). Then only 15 seconds later the Wildcats drew a 5-minute major on second year forward Matt Neuheimer (’00); 30-seconds later an overzealous Panther hoped the boards and put the 16s down 2 players. The Panthers PK was very strong, Gavin Maurer (’00), Evan Weaver and Cooper Younger (’01) killed off the entire 5-on-3, capped off with a Maurer short-handed goal. Chris Grubb (’01) completed the scoring for the home team later in the third. Goalie Creed Goshorn (’01) had arguably his best game of the season, making 21 stops in the shutout win.
