Here are a few questions that come up regularly.
When is payment due?
If your player(s) evaluate or try out within the expected time, the initial invoices will go out June 1, and payment is due June 16.
Is payment in full expected in June?
Some people like to pay the entire invoice upfront, while others prefer paying in installments. If you elect to pay in installments, you will receive an invoice reminder on the first of each month.
The installment payments are set to be a minimum payment of 20% of the total tuition—player tuition must be paid in full by December 15 of the current season.
When does the season start?
Generally, official team practices start the second (full) week in August.
When does the season end?
When does the season end?
The regular season ends at various times in late January or early February. League Playoffs usually begin immediately following the regular season.
Depending on their age and level of play, teams can advance to the Affiliate Championships or District Playoffs.
District Playoffs provide national-bound (14UAA, 16UAA, and 18UAA) teams with a path to advance to USA Hockey Nationals if they win the district playoffs.
When will we have game schedules?
Scheduling for the DVHL usually starts in mid-June and is completed by the beginning of July. Once the schedules are approved, they are released to the teams. DVHL league games (generally) begin after Labor Day weekend. The EJEPL games start with a Showcase near the end of August, with loose games released after that.
My player plays school hockey, too. Will that be a problem?
No, several of our players play both club and scholastic hockey. Please communicate with your team’s coach regarding any possible conflicts.
My player plays other sports, which may conflict. Will that be a problem?
That is not an issue in most cases, but not in all. Several of our players play spring and/or fall sports outside of hockey. If your player will generally miss some time, that is okay. However, if your player misses every week for an extended period, that may not be a good situation. Please communicate with your team’s coach regarding any possible conflicts.
